By the start of primary school, one in 10 kids in England is obese and by the end, it is one in five. Obesity is one of the major health issues among teenagers today. The chancellor has announced that a new sugar tax on the soft drinks industry will be introduced in the UK beginning 2018. The reason is that kids who drink soft drinks tend to have them every day, and some of the drinks are incredibly high in sugar. All the money raised – an estimated £520m a year – will be spent on increasing funding for sports in primary schools. As of now, it is unlikely that Japan will follow in England’s footsteps..
