イメージトレーニング

運動選手は自分の肉体的限界をどうやって超えていくのでしょう。その方法はイメージトレーニングです。私達が思っているよりもはるかに効果的なのです。バイオフィードバックという手法で、体の諸機能を意識的に制御することが可能であることが分かってきたのです。その効果は絶大です。現実と想像の垣根を取っ払ってくれます。スプリンターの方がスタートラインに立ち、スターティングロックに足を置き、トラックの感触を得て、ピストルの合図を待つイメージトレーニングをします。このイメージトレーニングにおいて現実味があればあるほど、集中力が高まり、反射的な動作や合理的な行動を無意識のうちにとれるようになるそうです。受験勉強においても合格する姿や学校へ通う姿をイメージし、今、最小限、これだけはしておかなければいけないことに集中しましょう。

 

I wonder how athletes push their bodies beyond their physical limits. Visual Rehearsal and Visualization work far better than we might think. Athletes were asked to run their races in their minds only. They were then hooked up to a biofeedback machine which showed that the same muscles fired in the same sequence as when they were running on the track. The results were significant. It revealed that the mind cannot distinguish between the real world and the imaginary one. The end result of using Visual Rehearsal and Visualization as a part of the training program is an increase in physical efficiency.

The athlete should visualize and kinesthetically feel the image. So, if a sprinter is visualizing his race, he should also sense his feet against the starting blocks, feel the texture of the track, hear the anticipation of the spectators as they wait for the starting pistol. The more real the visualization becomes, the more the mind finds it difficult to distinguish between the images and the real world. The theory is that effective visualization leads to real world success. Young people like you facing exams should also visualize that you will surely pass a test and enjoy your school life, therefore you know what you need to focus on. Let’s give it a go, shall we?
